I love my Aeropress as well – just like the pour over method, it’s easy. It takes up no counter space.  It’s portable.  It makes espresso on the go so you can have all of your fave coffeehouse drinks without hauling around a giant machine.
  1. Grind coffee to about the texture of table salt. You are going to need 2 ½ Tablespoons of coffee, or one Aeropress scoop full.
  2. Put the little disc filter in the basket. Pour the hot water over it, just to wet it.  Rinse the brewer with the hot water, and put hot water in your mug.  It just warms up your cup and brewer.  Rinsing the paper filter gets rid of papery tastes.
  3. Discard all of the excess water. Put the basket on the brew chamber and add the coffee grounds to the brew chamber.
  4. Add the water…. Start your timer when you pour the water into your brewer (205 degrees Fahrenheit) I usually brew espresso-type coffee in my aeropress so I only fill the chamber to the #2, but if you just want a good cup of regular coffee fill it to the #4 on the aeropress brewer.
  5. Stir the coffee and put the plunger top onto the brewer.
  6. At 1 minute 15 seconds remove the plunger and give the coffee a quick stir with your paddle.
  7. Put the plunger back on and gently press down with steady pressure, stopping as soon as you hear the hissing sound.
