We call it “camp coffee”. I find percolated coffee to be very bright and acidic. It tastes like a bright, happy breakfast blend.
The key with percolated coffee is to grind your coffee coarsely. Like a coarse breadcrumb. Most percolators have measurements right inside the filter basket for coffee to water ratios. Just be sure to fill that baby up with coarse coffee.
I’m sure each perker is different. Ours has the old school glass bulb at the top. As soon as the liquid in that ball is brown, I shut it off. (Over perked coffee is just not going to make it a good morning.) But follow your manufacturer’s instructions.
